Church Hill House welcomed all the children in years 3 to 8 for our 4th Annual Kids Only Christmas Shop on 29 November 2024 - and this year was even bigger and better! But it all has to start with donations from our wonderful, generous community.
With over 700 items donated for both CHH and WR sites, our volunteers spent a rainy Saturday afternoon sorting, pricing and grouping gifts together to ensure all the children at HSA had a great selection to choose from on the day. Even our alumni love this event and asked to come help with the sorting of the gifts. We at FoHSA love the sense of community that our school engenders in our children. Many thanks to AJ Parkes (Year 8 leaver - 2022) and Jasmine Barrett (Year 6 leaver - 2024) for coming in to help!
After weeks of preparation, planning and thought, before we knew it, it was time for the Kids Only Christmas Shop to open. Our FoHSA Elves worked hard to transform our venues - and at CHH we literally rolled out the red carpet! With hanging baubles and candy canes, Nut Crackers flanking the entrance, a Christmas tree and our very own Elf Check Out, the shop made sure the magic of the season delighted children of all ages.
At CHH 230 children were so excited to do their Holiday Shopping in the Kids Only Christmas Shop, and we know they all found the perfect items for their loved ones. After some careful thought, children took their purchases to Elf Check Out, got their thank you lolly or pencil, and headed over to our wrapping stations. And boy were our wrapping elves busy!
This year we raised at CHH over £1000! What a great result! Final totals across both sites will be published in the first HSA newsletter of 2025. Left over items were donated to Salvation Army Christmas Appeal and to the Bright Spaces Charity - both great charities that support our local community. We also offered a selection of books to the HSA libraries to help increase the available reading material for all our children. Thank you to all our HSA families who generously contributed to this event with donations and their time. The FoHSA Elves couldn't have done any of our work without you!
