Egg-cellent Time at the 2025 Easter Event

What an event this year! The weather held, we debuted our new FOHSA Popcorn machine, Kindness Stones were everywhere to be found to encourage and uplift our community, Tucker the Easter Bunny made an appearance and children raced across the Lower Field and Playground to find 1500 eggs! Many thanks to all who attended our event - due to your generosity we were able to raise over £400. If missed the change to donate - it's not too late! You can make a donation here:

The FOHSA Bunny Squad spent the whole year planning this epic event for HSA community. Watching the weather apps in the days preceding the event, hoping that the rain would stay away. Luckily, we had a perfect day for the Easter Event - which allowed families to enjoy all the activities we had on offer. Lucie Dennison was back this year running our ever popular Forest School Activity - creative bunnies made clay creations and decorated wood to make Easter Decorations. We loved seeing what they brought to life. Forest School is a key part of the curriculum at HSA, and we are so grateful to Lucie for putting on such a great activity for the children.

Our Drinks Stall was hopping the whole time with Bunny Squad members Emma, Elle, Louise and Beth making sure all our guests were well hydrated and fed! They also handed out prizes for the HOPTASTIC trail blazers who completed our Easter Trail and found the secret word. But the biggest hit this year was our Popcorn Machine! Thank you to Jason and Louise for testing out the machine at home before serving a lot of happy customers on the day! We can't wait to have you manning the Popcorn Machine at the Summer Fair.

The Kindness Stones were the brainchild of Shraddha - parent from Woodham Rise - who organised a team of parents to paint the stones as a way to spread kindness and positivity to our community. Children were encouraged to find and keep a kindness stone as a way to remind them of their incredible capacity to be kind to themselves, to others and the world. Stay tuned, as Kindness Stones may make an appearance at other FOHSA events soon!

We were so egg-cited to have the return of Tucker the Easter Bunny this year! Joshua Tucker left HSA in 2024 to attend Lord Wandsworth School, but he didn't want to pass up the chance to reprise his role of Tucker the Easter Bunny this year. The children were delighted to see him hopping along the Bunny Trail and photo ops were there for all to enjoy. Tucker the Easter Bunny didn't want anything for his time, but asked if we could help him raise money for his chosen charity - The Brompton Fountain. When Tucker was a small bunny, he needed a heart surgery. The Royal Brompton saved his life, and now Tucker wants to give back so that other little bunnies can get the same life saving care he did. If you would like to donate to Tucker's fundraiser, please follow this link:

With all the egg-cellent weather, food and drink, and forest school activities on offer, our community also got to play a few games and win prizes! Hoop the Bunny and Spin the Wheel were incredibly popular. And our Jelly Bean Raffle winner from Year 3, loved winning their sweet prize. But pinnacle moment of the day was our biggest Easter Egg Hunt ever. Check out the highlights of the day on our Instagram!

Our Bunny Squad thought carefully about how they could make this event even more epic. They spent almost a year planning what they could find to make the prizes more fun, how many more eggs they could get, and how they could keep some back for any little bunnies that need an egg or two of their own. The children couldn't wait for 2pm, egg-citedly ready to use their new Easter Bags to collect their eggs - with 650 eggs on Lower Field and 850 on the Playground to be found. The children at Lower Field nearly bowled over Mr. Ward when the gate went up - even jumping over the security fencing to get their eggs! The children at the playground were no less eager - with three entry points, they rushed forward to find the eggs and also to share them with younger children. The kindness on display was lovely - especially alongside the absolute joy at finding the eggs. We hope every child who attended enjoyed our Trail and Hunt and that they went home happy. Our Bunny Squad was super busy after the hunt handing our prizes as every egg had a prize with some to be collected from our drinks stall. The Pinwheels seemed to be very popular!

As always, our Easter Event was free to attend and other than pay to play games and the drinks/food stalls, all our activities were free for all to enjoy - this included the Easter Trail, the Forest School Activity and the Egg Hunt. It's a great way to bring our community together and enjoy the beginning of Spring. It seemed that for many the best part of the day was the end when children took over the playground and played well past 3:30pm as they didn't want to go home!

We hope that if you attended the event that you enjoyed it. We'd love your feedback! Please email us at hello@friendsofhsa.com and let us know your thoughts. If you also want to help support events like these, please do get involved and join us at one of our meetings. You can find our meeting schedule our home page - Home | FOHSA
